For all you Lanolips fans out there, please welcome the lovely Kirsten Carriol (founder of Lanolips) on the Beauty Swatch Guest Interview this month!  Lanolips 101 Ointment is one of my Holy Grail lip balms, and it seems the rest of the world thinks so too.   One can’t help but feel a little nostalgia with the little sheep motif & the South Australian heritage behind the brand. In this lip interview, Kirsten shares with us her tips for keeping lips in tip top shape & a sneak peak into her upcoming range!

My signature look is…

A flick of liquid eyeliner, loads of mascara and a healthy looking lip with lustre and a bit of a tint.

Lippies sitting in my makeup bag right now are…

Lanolips Lemonaid Lip Aid (my instant hit of zing) and my new lip ointment colour I am trialling (a wine-coloured tint).

The shade(s) of lipstick/lipgloss that I repeatedly buy, convincing myself it’s a variation I must add to my collection is…

I am always looking for that rich fleshy ‘healthy lip’ colour, but it always ends up being too nude, too brown or too red!

A lip trend I’ve been meaning to try is…

Red lipstick (I’ve found that my Lip Ointment in ‘Apples’ is a great starting point for those afraid of/don’t-have-the-lip-shape for red… Like me)

Best beauty tip for exfoliating chapped flaky lips..

After your shower, rub your damp lips gently with a facewasher to remove dead skin that’s ‘ready’ to go. Don’t scrub with granules, your lips are fragile and you will end up doing more damage than good.

(*High Five!* That’s exactly what I do too, minus the facewasher.  I never bothered with scrubs. Check out Kirsten’s must-read blog post on ”Why Lanolips Will Never Do A Lip Scrub“)

My favourite way to use Lanolips 101 Ointment, other than on lips is…

Under my eyes – to wake up dewy and a little plumped.

A sneak peek into what’s coming up next from Lanolips…

I am working on three new products in a body range – and I am in love with them all!

And finally, my Number 1 beauty commandment..

Nothing beats good skin. That should be what you always aim for above anything. And the more you do to skin, the more damage you may do. Be gentle and kind.

Readers, let’s help recommend Kirsten a red lipstick for small lip shapes! Leave a comment below with your pick.

Personally I recommended Nars Pure Matte Lipstick (Vesuvio) and Eyeko Liptastik (Hot Lover) for thin lips as it’s easier to control a lip crayon with a cream/matte formula.

    Great interview!

I think that NARS Gypsy (sheer berry red) would be a great red for people that aren’t comfortable with a full on red lip.
