Brand: Covergirl
Range: TruShine Lipstick (Discontinued in some countries)
Shades: 415 (Blushberry Shine) & 465 (Peach Shine)
Swatched by yours truly: akisa

  • 465 (Peach Shine) is a peach shade, and a dupe of MAC’s “Dressmaker” (from the Pret-a-Papier collection)
  • 415 (Blushberry Shine) is more rose than peach as the swatch suggests.
  • Hydrating, glossy and smoothing. Very pigmented for a sheer texture.
  • It takes a lot for a lipstick to impress me, but this drugstore lipstick is certainly one I’d recommend.

The packaging is definitely for those young at heart!

415 – Blushberry Shine

465 – Peach Shine
Due to the sheer finish, 465 reveals more of my natural lip tone underneath, compared to MAC’s “Dressmaker” which has a creamier coverage.

I noticed this is discontinued in Covergirl’s official website. If this is discontinued in Australia too please let me know.

Brand: CoverGirl
Range: Continuous Color Lipstick
Shades: Really Red (575), Almost Nude (820)
Swatched by yours truly: akisa

  • Almost Nude: Creamy & pigmented. The down side is that it doesn’t sit well from direct application. (I used my finger to even out the application) and accentuates lip lines rather than smoothens it.
  • Really Red: A sheer blue-red that can be built up depending on the look you want. The down side was that the red stain took a bit of effort to remove from my lips (It would be an upside if you like to be left with a cherry lipstain)
  • In terms of hydration, of the two, Really Red lived up to its promise & delivered a glossy red finish without any lip balm.

  • Super-reflective metallic finish
  • Applies evenly & doesn’t slide
  • Semi-hydrating & comfortable on lips
  • Light taste / scent – the kind that you don’t think about.
  • Since the finish is so reflective, I wouldn’t recommended this if you have deep lip lines (as it only accentuates it more)

The shine in this is not digitally enhanced. It’s very reflective!
