Brand: Hello Kitty
Range: Shine & Kiss Lipstick
Shade: Violetta

  • Shine & Kiss lipsticks are really moist, with lip nourishing ingredients such as argan oil and mango butter.
  • Great for those who love a decent colour payoff, without the heaviness (and high maintenance) of a waxy or creamy finish.  It’s lightweight, sheer, yet leaves a veil of pigmented colour that requires minimal blending.
  • Available in 4 shades – Violetta (warm violet), Pink Floyd (fuchsia), Baiser Vole (red), and Frapuccino (brown).
  • Verdict: Between Matte & Kiss and Shine & Kiss lipsticks, I prefer the latter as it’s easier to apply without needing much blending, really moistens lips and is a cheaper dupe of Giorgio Armani Sheer Lipsticks.
In real life, this lipstick is really compact in size, in between a sample & full size.
Don’t let the sheer swatch fool you!  The shade really pops on pigmented lips.

HELLO KITTY Matte & Kiss Lipstick – Bollywood

Brand: Hello Kitty
Range: Matte & Kiss Lipstick
Shade:  Bollywood

  • Believe it or not, the lipstick packaging actually says “Mate & Kiss”, and I bet they’re beside themselves for overlooking
  • These are semi-matte & feel more like a waxy pigmented lipstick than the typical dry texture you’d expect from matte formulas.
  • Contains Vitamin A & E to hydrate and soften lips.
  • Available in 3 shades – Barcelona (rosewood), Sevilla (dark red) and Bollywood (fuchsia)
  • Verdict: I’m surprised Hello Kitty Cosmetics decided to include a fuschia shade in their lipstick range, especially when there is already a fuschia lip balm (Kawaii Kiss), which I reckon gives a similar if not more pigmented & smoother finish.   I find the lipstick also requires slightly more effort to blend than the lip balm.  Having said that, Bollywood swatches beautifully and would suit lipstick lovers.
It looks tall in the photograph but it’s actually quite a small compact sized lipstick

HELLO KITTY Magnetic Gloss – Baby Lip

HELLO KITTY, LIP GLOSS, Lips, NC20, Yishan | by — November 10, 2011

Brand: Hello Kitty
Range: Magnetic Gloss
Shade:  Baby Lip
Swatched by yours truly: akisa

  • Lightweight & non-sticky, this is available in 3 shades – Girlie Lip (fuchsia), Baby Lip (light pink), and Crystal Lip (clear).
  • Baby Lip on me is a sheer light beige pink with light shimmers
  • Verdict: Great for layering over a nude or pale pink/beige lips to add a shimmery dimension, for those that like a touch of shimmer to an everyday look.  Personally I like these kind of finishing glosses over creamy nude glosses for a more subtle / sophisticated glossy nude lip.
“Magnetic” is a catchy name but not exactly how I’d describe the texture. It’s basically a light weight emollient texture and smooths lip lines.

HELLO KITTY Lip Balm – Kawaii Kiss

Brand: Hello Kitty
Range: Lip Balm
Shade: Kawaii Kiss
Swatched by yours truly: akisa

  • Hello Kitty Cosmetics has arrived in Australia exclusive to Priceline and is European designed and formulated.
  • Featured in an irresistibly cute metal tin, this lip balm is rose scented and contains shea butter, apricot kernel and Vitamin E to nourish lips.
  • Available in 4 shades – Sweet Kiss, Kiss Me, Kawaii Kiss (pictured), French Kiss
  • Verdict: This has got to be the most pigmented lip balm I have ever tried! Kawaii Kiss is indeed a kawai bold pink that lasts reasonably well, leaving behind a pink stain.   It applies more smoothly than pigmented lipstick and gives lips a softened look, making it an all round winner in my books.
The packaging is just too cute!
I used a lip brush to apply it evenly.  It looks more pigmented & eye popping fuchsia in real life.
Don’t you think this looks as good (if not better) than a lipstick formula?
As you can see, the lip balm texture is thicker than other lip balms out there but is incredibly nourishing.

  • Hello Kitty Cosmetics has arrived in Australia exclusive to Priceline. The full cosmetic range is European designed and formulated, and features the iconic whimsical packaging that we all heart!
  • These fruity scented gloss tubes have a roller ball applicator, which is an odd but appropriate choice for the liquid texture of the gloss.
  • Available in 3 shades – Snow Coco, Strawberry Fields and Pink Paradise.
  • Pink Paradise was a pretty sparkly pink in the tube, but came out a clear gloss with absolutely no sign of sparkle.  I wonder if they got trapped under the roller ball. Who knows.
  • Verdict: Grown-ups won’t be satisfied with the texture, colour and shimmer pay off (maybe even the roller ball too), but it’s a great gift idea for young girls who want to get into lipgloss without looking too grown up.
What are your thoughts on a roller ball applicator?
This swatch doesn’t scream Pink Paradise to me.
