Brand: Australis
Range: Go Long Longwear Lipsticks
Shades: Boho, Diva, Preppy, Easy Chic, Trendy, Ghetto, Uber Cool
Swatched by yours truly: Yishan

  • Go Long Longwear Lipsticks are a collection of semi matte, intense pigment, long wear lipsticks that promise up to 10 hours of wear
  • Enriched with anti-oxidants to nourish, repair and leave lips looking healthy.  Contains Vitamin E, white tea leaf extract, rosehip oil and mango butter.
  • Available in 8 shades: Boho, Glam, Diva, Preppy, Easy Chic, Trendy, Ghetto and Uber Cool.  The only shade I didn’t get to try was Glam.
  • They apply with a really great grip even with lip balm on, and provide even & densely pigmented coverage.
  • Lasts for hours and doesn’t dry out lips provided you apply it over moisturised lips.
  • Verdict: Despite the shades looking ordinarily similar in the tube, they come alive once on lips, especially Diva & Uber Cool which make my lips pop.  Diva is my favourite shade of them all, as it starts off as a poppy red when worn sheer and comes alive into a vibrant red when layered on.  Ghetto is my next favourite, great for warm skin tones and wintery palettes.

FACE OF AUSTRALIA Lip Quench SPF30+ – Peaches & Cream, Mocha Latte – Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Brand: Face of Australia
Range: Lip Quench SPF30+
Shade: Peaches & Cream, Mocha Latte
Swatched by yours truly: Yishan

  • Face of Australia have added 2 new shades to their Lip Quench SPF30+ lipstick range – Peaches & Cream and Mocha Latte.
  • The Lip Quench range has a creamy smooth formula that glides on easily, and is enriched with natural moisturisers including Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E & Shea Butter, and SPF30+ sun protection.
  • The formula is very smooth and comfortable to wear, but is lightweight in moisture once applied so you’ll need a good lip balm to go with it to avoid it accentuating lip flaws.
  • Available in a total of 14 shades.
  • Verdict: Due to my pigmented lip tone, Mocha Latte provided a more even coverage compared to Peaches & Cream which I normally have trouble with achieving an even finish with such shades of pink.  Although this is my first swatch of the Lip Quench range, I previously received other shades that were far too pale and difficult to achieve an even swatch, so I’m really pleased to be sent shades this time that compliment my lip tone.  Thumbs up for the creamy smooth finish & a great range of colours (do check out Forbidden Fruit), but I’d only recommend it if you don’t have any issues with dryness or lines on your lips.

BOBBI BROWN High Shimmer Lip Gloss – Bronzed Heather – Reviews, Photos, Swatches

Brand: Bobbi Brown
Range: High Shimmer Lip Gloss
Shade: Bronzed Heather
Swatched by yours truly: Yishan

  • Launched as part of the Desert Twilight Collection, the range combines soft hues with bright colour, offering a pop of turquoise against a backdrop of rose, plum and bronze shades.
  • Super sparkly, these glosses feature a special mix of pearls in a clear base for the ultimate in shimmer, shine and colour.
  • Moisturising emollients and Vitamins C and E condition lips and offer antioxidant protection.
  • The range has 2 shades of lip gloss – Bronzed Heather and Firefly.
  • Verdict: The rosewood hues in Bronzed Heather fuses with my natural lip colour to create a dazzling warm nude that I find cooler toned than the typical bronze lip gloss.  This would look perfect on warm/dark skin  tones with brown smokey eyes

L’OREAL Colour Riche Anti-Age Serum Lipstick – Sparkling Rose, Radiant Orange & Pearly Praline

Brand: L’Oreal Paris
Range: Colour Riche Anti-Age Serum Lipstick
Shades: Sparkling Rose (S105), Radiant Orange (S402), Pearly Praline (S303)
Swatched by yours truly: akisa

  • Formulated especially for women over 40, this lipstick features an anti-aging serum in the core, with anti-aging ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen and Pro-xylane, to restore moisture and firmness to the lips.
  • Also contains omega 3 and Vitamin E as a protective barrier to prevent lips from drying out.
  • Available in 15 shades, I got to try 105 (Sparkling Rose), 402 (Radiant Orange) and 303 (Pearly Praline).
  • Feels buttery smooth on lips & leaves lips with a healthy shine, helped by the fine light reflecting shimmers.
  • I found the lip-line smoothing properties moderate for a lipstick aimed at women over 40, however it does soften the appearance of lip lines, and the nourishing ingredients revive lips from looking flat and tired into moisturised and supple.
  • The taste of this lipstick is a let down – I can’t put a finger on it, other than to say that it tastes like synthetic fragrance.
  • Verdict: As gorgeous as the shades are, I’m afraid this lipstick is getting a lukewarm review, more so from the expectations it created in my mind when it is supposedly for women over 40.  Whilst I can feel my lips feeling soothed by the anti-aging ingredients, I would love it more if it tasted better and smoothed lip lines more.

Swatched over a thin layer of Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm & applied with a lip brush to create full coverage.
It’s actually a lot sheerer when applied directly from the bullet.

FACE OF AUSTRALIA Sheer Gloss Lip Crayons

Brand: Face of Australia
Range: Sheer Gloss Lip Crayon
Shades: Macaron, Cupcake & Sundae
Swatched by yours truly: akisa

  • Face of Australia is the latest brand to come out with lip crayons,  making their mark with a set of 3 shades for an incredibly affordable price of $14.95 AUD
  • Comes in Macaron (raspberry), Cupcake (milky pink), and Sundae (brown).  All infused with a subtle vanilla scent.
  • Glides on smoothly, coating lips with an incredibly moisturising and lightweight flush of colour.
  • Convenient wind-up applicator – no sharpening needed.
  • Although Macaron is my favourite shade of them all, I’m also impressed with Cupcake for being able to coat my flushed lips with a milky pink tint without any streaks. The great thing about Sundae is that the sheerness of the brown blends with the pink in your lips for your own customised pink-brown shade.
  • Verdict: The thing about lip crayons is that either the shade doesn’t pull my heart strings, or the finish is not moistuirising enough. What I love about Face of Australia’s lip crayons is firstly how moisturising it is & smooths my lip lines like they never existed.  And I absolutely love Macaron, the gorgeous raspberry shade is worth purchasing the whole set for!

RRP: $14.95 AUD for a set of 3

Available at Priceline, Kmart, Big W and selected pharmacies Australia wide.
