BYS Mega Shine Lipgloss – Watermelon, Bubbalicious

Available in 17 shades, BYS Mega Shine Lipglosses are very smooth with a high shine finish.
Sheer coverage with a hint of colour that’s more noticeable with Watermelon despite what you’d guess from looking at the tube & skin swatch.
Very emollient, almost liquid in viscosity. In fact Bubbalicious was a little runny, which I was a bit suspicious of (despite its name) as there shouldn’t be that many bubbles in a lipgloss tube!
Verdict: Watermelon was an easy-to-wear sheer pink gloss with a hint of shimmer that’s affordable for only $3.95 AUD. As for Bubbalicious, not only were the bubbles worrying, the purple hues weren’t really effective in adding a lilac wash to my lip tone. Nevertheless it’s an affordable gloss in a hygienic squeeze tube great for those who don’t want to spend a lot for a glossy lip.

Available in 9 shades, these lippies are creamy, highly pigmented with a light reflecting sheen for added dimension.
I’m loving the chic, matte black packaging with Kate’s signature & embossed Rimmel logo. It’s one of the best packaged drugstore lipsticks I’ve seen to date.
The grip in the creamy texture hugs lips & lines very snugly, so be sure to wear over a smoothing lip balm for a smoother finish & longer lasting moisture.
It’s not everyday that I am impressed with so many shades in the same collection, but all six shades swatched beautifully on my flushed lips with no streaks or variations in texture (as can be the case with different pigments). Even #04 didn’t show any signs of sinking into lines, a trait often found in deep purple / wine shades.
Verdict: Highly recommend the nudey shades in the range (7 & 14), and the mesmerizingly seductive deep red (11). 12 is also a great pick for channeling 2012′s Pantone Color of the Year – Tangerine Orange.

I swatched #04 on a different day to the other swatches, and my lips weren’t 100% that day – not the fault of the lipstick.

Kontrol is a striking deep blue violet launched as part of Illamasqua’s Theatre of the Nameless Collection, inspired by a heady mix of opulence & decadence.
Bluebell describes the texture has highly opaque and creamy, and the shade is more experimental than for everyday.
On Bluebell’s lip swatch (NC10) the blue hues show really well, where as on my lips (NC20) the violet hues are more evident. Click here to view my swatch of this shade

Kontrol is a striking deep blue violet launched as part of Illamasqua’s Theatre of the Nameless Collection, inspired by a heady mix of opulence & decadence.
Creamy moisturising “non slip” finish that’s much more comfortable to wear than other matte shades.
When worn sheer, it has more of a blue tone which transforms into deep violet when layered on as I have done below.
Verdict: Although Kontrol is not for the faint hearted, I highly recommend Illamasqua as the go-to brand for deep lipstick shades (I’m talking deep wines, deep purples etc.) as those from many other brands tend to “slip” and looks patchy. Patchy wine lips is not cool. With Illamasqua lipsticks, you can guarantee even coverage that’s durable and doesn’t budge. Plus if you have a steady hand, you won’t even need a lip liner as it’s so pigmented.
