{WHICH LIPPY} Emerald

Upon learning that Emerald was Pantone’s 2013 colour of the year, it got me wondering which lipstick shade I’d pair it with, especially as I had never worn green on my eyes or on a dress before.  When it comes to wearing risky shades (eg. purple eyeshadow), the only palette that gave me pretty violet eyelids rather than purply bruises was Tom Ford’s Eye Color Quad in Violet Dusk.  So when it comes to trying on green eyeshadow, I trust only Tom Ford to make what seems like an impossible trend work. With emerald eyes, red lipstick is an easy choice and I recommend blue reds to balance with the coolness of emerald.  Ginger gives a more demure effect, whereas hot pink is definitely for the young at heart.  Whilst I’m in no hurry to wear emerald nail polish, I am however drooling over those emerald earrings by Deepa Gurnai.
